JUST THE JOB - EVENING STANDARD
Rachael Bee organised, promoted and fronted Respect at the Wag dub, which ran every Friday night from 1990 to 1993.
Her next success was Flipside on Saturday nights at Iceni club, 1993- 1997. She then worked as a producer and
presenter at Kiss TV for two years. Earlier this year she set
up her own company, Impact PR and Event Management, and now organises and fronts MTV's Lick parties, Channel 4's Flava parties and Faith with Jazzie B at Legends every Saturday.
She organised Heart and Soul at Mass in Brixton last Friday, a charity club night to raise money for the victims of the Brixton bomb.
Best moment:
" In May this year I organised a Lick party in Leeds; 4,500 people came and it ended up being the biggest R'n'B party this country has ever seen. It was a phenomenal feeling to see so many people having a great time and knowing I was behind it "
TIMEOUT
"I've done a lot of radio and TV but there ís something really special about clubs. The hit is so instant, the payback, seeing all those people having a great time and knowing that you've organised it is hugely satisfying. I love event organising."
All of which explains why Channel 4 came to her when they started parties linked to their Flava programme, and why she was the obvious person to co-ordinate Heart and Soul, an event in aid of the victims of the Brixton bombing.
