MUISC INDUSTRY Workshops

Music Industry Workshops
From Inception to the Charts – The Artists Journey

This series of workshops is designed to take the participants on a journey from making a record to the point of release and beyond. Along the way we encounter, via the records trajectory, the huge array of jobs available in the music industry.

It is a fun and interactive way for young people to grasp the breadth and scope of the opportunities available regardless of qualifications and abilities. We aim to inspire participants to look beyond the mainly unrealistic dream of becoming a rapper or pop idol to something within their grasp by showing the options and pathways.

The workshops cover a lot of ground and can be condensed or expanded depending on the available time, funds and requirements. They can be presented as a series of three-hour workshops loosely broken up as follows.

Workshop One
Writing & Recording a demo
Getting the record professionally recorded and cut
Finding a manager

Workshop Two
How to promote your record
Getting a record/publishing deal
Legal and Business

Workshop Three
Live Music and Related Areas (this can also be covered in the performance workshop)

We can also do these as a longer series of workshops going into more detail in each area and book guests who work in these areas to talk about what they do.
